Downtown Arsonist Arrested After Fire Causes $750K Damage

The Bakersfield Fire Department's Arson Division has arrested Michael Webber for felony Arson. The arrest was made with the help of the downtown community, Bakersfield Police Impact Unit, and Citiguard security company. The fire occurred on September 2, 2024, at 1030 19th Street in a Commercial Structure, resulting in an estimated $750,000 in property damage. Michael Webber was booked into KCSO’s Central Receiving Facility on Friday, September 6th for Arson and other charges. BFD Arson Investigators urge anyone with information to contact Captain Wegis at 661-326-3698.
